Introduction to Attachments

Attachments are an integral part of Dataverse tables. They are used to store files linked to any record e.g. an account or a contact. Some out-of-the-box tables come with attachments enabled, which in turn enables notes and files. For custom tables, there is an option to enable attachments.

Attachments in model-driven apps

Attachments show up, as notes, under Timeline (along with other activities) in model-driven apps. To learn how to add and configure the timeline control, click here.

Working with an attachment

To create an attachment, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the attachment/clip icon

    Step 1 for attachment creation

  2. Select a file and click on Open
  3. Click on "Add note and close"

  4. A new note gets created with the attachment
